If you need to make a claim, that is handled by the insurance carrier directly. Any refunds for trip cancellation are sent by the insurance carrier to the guest and the original payment is retained by Big Bear Cabin Rentals.

If you make a booking and purchase travel insurance, and then change the dates of the booking, the travel insurance should transfer to the new dates. However, OwnerRez does not have the ability to communicate the new date information to the insurance company. So, you need to call the phone number in your policy and let them know, just to make sure.

Why can’t I buy travel insurance?
Travel insurance can only be purchased at the time of booking, or more than 30 days prior to arrival. If you make a booking where arrival is less than 30 days in the future, and don’t buy the travel insurance as part of the booking payment process, you aren’t able to buy it at all.
How do I make a claim against the insurance policy?
When a travel insurance policy is purchased, a policy document will be automatically emailed to the email address used to make the booking. This will include instructions and telephone numbers that you can use to file a claim against the policy. You will be reimbursed by the insurance company for valid claims; Big Bear Cabin Rentals does not provide refunds for cancellations other than what may apply in our cancellation policy.

Travel insurance can be canceled for a full refund within 10 days of purchase, as long as no claim has been made against it. You need to contact the insurance company directly to cancel the policy and receive a refund.
